 In this tutorial you will learn how to outline image in Photoshop by adding a white outline to a cutout image.


Let’s start with this photo of a young girl. Press Control+J to duplicate the Girl layer by making a copy.

Next, we have to extract the person from the background.



To make selection in Photoshop, you can use the Pen Tool or selection tools like the Quick Selection Tool.


Click on the Add Layer Mask button from the bottom menu of the Layers tab. Go to Select > Refine mask if you want to make mask smoother.



Now, to outline image in Photoshop, add a Stroke layer style. Set the size, position and color of the stroke. Choose white color if you want to create a white outline. …
